Write a persuasive college application writing sample and a winning resume!
If you are a: fall athlete or in the play, a procrastinator or writing is not your strength, this is the course for you!
In this class, you will make your application stand out from the applications of other candidates with similar experiences. Come to class prepared to analyze your experiences, goals, reflections on the last year and to forge them into a compelling story.
Write for Acceptance is a 5 Day intensive course for rising seniors. Activities will include self-assessment, brainstorming, one-on-one coaching, and editing. Students should be available to attend classes from 8:00AM –Noon, Monday through Friday or when their draft is considered application ready, whichever comes first. A minimum of 8 students are required to hold a class. The goal is for every student to complete his or her application writing sample and resume. To meet that goal students must engage in the writing process in class as well as complete drafts outside of class. The program concludes with a meeting that includes instructors, parents, and the senior. Students are given support throughout the college application process with any edits needed for required short answer or additional writing samples.
Write for Acceptance, Inc. is a program designed and administrated for the past nineteen years by Ms. McLaughlin. Ms. McLaughlin is currently a College and Guidance Counselor at Bishop Fenwick High School with a proven record of mentoring clients and students striving to write effective college application essays. Additional staff will be hired to assist in the course ensuring a one to eight ratio.
