Daily Life at Fenwick

 

Location: 
Bishop Fenwick High School campus of thirty-eight acres is located in Peabody, Massachusetts.  The school is accessible from routes 128 North or South, and route 95 and route 114.

School Day:
Bishop Fenwick High School begins the school day at 7:57 am and classes end at 2:15 pm.  The schedule is a seven day rotating cycle.  Students typically have five classes per day each lasting one hour.  Extra help is available after school each day.  Students have a thirty minute lunch period each day.  Extra-curricular activities begin at 2:50 pm.

School Dress Code: 
Students are required to wear a Bishop Fenwick polo shirt, chino style pants, and between October and May a Fenwick Fleece top.   Information regarding the purchase of uniforms is sent home in the spring.

Financial Aid:

Financial Aid is available and intended for students who have met the entrance requirements and are in need of assistance. Parents are asked to complete an on-line student aid application at www.factstuitionaid.com. The applications are available for the 2010-2011 school year starting November 1, 2009. Financial Aid is available and intended for students who have met the entrance requirements and are in need of assistance. Parents are asked to obtain and complete a student aid form and submit it to FACTS Tuition Management.  These forms may be obtained at the end of January in the Business Office and at the Main Office.

Academics: 
Nine academic departments comprise the core of the academic program.
In the freshman and sophomore years the academic levels offered are:

  • College Prep
  • College Prep Accelerated
  • Honors. 

During the junior and senior years, the academic levels offered are:

  • College Prep
  • Honors
  • Advanced Placement.

During the 2009-2010 academic year, twenty-six honor level courses and six advanced placement courses are being offered.

During the freshman year students take the following classes:

  • Religious Studies I
  • English I
  • Science – Biology
  • Foreign Language – Spanish or French
  • Mathematics – Algebra I or Geometry
  • Physical Education and Health
  • and either       European Culture and an Intro. Fine Arts Course
  • or a Fine Arts Major Course (Drawing & Painting, Band or Concert Choir, which requires an audition.)
