The purpose of the Religion Department is to teach Scripture and the Catholic tradition, in hopes of nurturing in the students a vital relationship to God in Jesus Christ. In courses in morality, social justice, and Christian lifestyles, we endeavor to connect the life of faith with moral actions within both the immediate community of school and family, and the broader family of the world.
Because of its nature, the Religion Department is uniquely dedicated to carrying out the school’s philosophy of Faith, Caring, and Service and to fulfilling the mission of the school:
- To proclaim the Gospel so it can be integrated into students’ lives
- To create an experience of community which would mirror care, respect, forgiveness, fidelity, and faith
- To provide opportunities to learn and serve, thereby empowering students to reach out to their neighbor and the world through the works of mercy.
