The Social Studies Department seeks to develop the ability of students to analyze, comprehend, interpret and relate the materials presented as they apply to the global community. The department seeks to provide all students with the values, skills and knowledge needed to deal with the social problems of our age and to make students aware of and receptive to changes in the world. The specific outcomes sought from the courses offered are to teach students to think critically, to make informed decisions and to understand major world cultures.
