  If your student:

·         is not achieving the grades they are capable
·         is unorganized
·         needs to write an essay for a college application
·         will be taking Algebra II in the fall
·         does not take notes well
·         needs better test taking strategies
·         needs to be motivated to complete the summer reading
·         wants to fit art into their life but cannot during the school year
·         needs to prepare a portfolio for review
·         is interested in digital photography

...then The Summer Institute is for you !!!

The Summer Institute is in its fifth year.  The foundation of the Institute is its study skills and strategies curriculum.  The Foundation I and the Foundation II courses focus on study skills and strategies in English and Math.  In the Algebra II Prep course, the student will review the basic math concepts they will be expected to know the first day of Algebra II.   In the Write for Acceptance course seniors will work in small groups and one on one with instructors.  These students will complete a draft of an essay ready to be used as part of a college application. Students that have taken this course in the past have stated that they were far less stressed in the fall of their senior year having completed their essay in the summer.   Students who cannot fit an art course into their school schedule or the student who wishes to work on their portfolio will be happy that this year we have added three art courses:  Studio Clay, ART Play, and Introduction to Digital Photography

A small teacher to student ratio, exceptional professionals and access to the Bishop Fenwick facilities are the key elements that ensure that every student enrolled has an experience that improves their self confidence and introduces them to new, positive learning experiences.
