The Campus Ministry Department has many activities planned for the upcoming year. Some activiites are required for a particular class such as the freshman and sophomore days of retreats and service and the senior service projects prior to graduation. We encourage all students to participate in activities and to use their time and talents to help the Fenwick community and the community at large. Below is a calendar of events for the year 2009 - 2010.

Below is a sampling of various Outreach Activities supported by our students over the years:
Salem Serve-a-thon, September
Half-day service project in Salem: clean a park, plant fall flowers, paint park benches, or clean parts of the Salem river bed.
Freshman Service/Retreat Days, October (annual)
Freshmen will participate in a retreat held at St. Thomas the Apostile Church in Salem (theme: developing a healthy self-esteem) and a service project at Greater Boston Food Bank, Cradles to Crayons, The Penny Bear Company or Emmaus.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, October (annual)
A six-mile walk around the Charles River in Boston; help raise money to fight Breast Cancer.
City Year Serve-a-thon, October
Students will be performing a day of service in Boston or a surrounding community (cleaning a park, painting a classroom or landscaping a neighborhood community). These are just some of the projects we have done in the past. This is an all day event.
Automobile Accident Re-enactment -- October, 2006
Assisted by the Peabody Fire Department, Police Department, North Shore Ambulance and members of our Drama Department -- students are made aware of the dangers of drinking and driving.
Canned Food Drive, November (annual)
Keeping with the Fenwick tradition, all donations are sent to The Warwick House food pantry in Roxbury. Students are asked to bring in canned foods, cereal, pasta, peanut butter & jelly, baby food (no glass jars) etc, anything that is non perishable. Each homeroom participates in a challenge to see who can collect the most goods during the six day drive.
Christmas Gift-Giving Drive, December (annual)
Gifts are collected and dropped off in the chapel foyer and donated to needy families with children ages 12 to 18 years old. This project supports the works of Catholic Charities.
St. Francis Clothing Drive, January (annual)
Our annual drive supports the work of St. Francis House in Boston. We will be looking for donations of men's clothing in good condition. New socks, hats and gloves are also appreciated.
Catholic Schools Week, last week of January (annual)
In celebration of Catholic Schools Week, a variety of fundraisers will take place in an effort to raise money for charities such as St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. We also host a breakfast or luncheon for the Sisters of Notre Dame who have served our school community over the years.
Sophomore Service/Retreat Days March (annual)
Sophomores will participate in a retreat held at the Ipswich Retreat Center (theme: diversity) and a service project at Greater Boston Food Bank, Cradles to Crayons or Emmaus.
Visits to the residents of the Sunrise Assisted Living Facility in Peabody, MA (annual)
The Outreach Team will visit the residents in celebration of Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine's Day. There will also be a final visit in May....a fashion show (Prom attire). All students are welcome.
Cell Phones for Soldiers -- donations of old cell phones, battery chargers, and accessories which will be sold to a company that recycles them. The money from the sale of the phones will be used to purchase calling cards which will be distributed to soldiers serving in Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan.
Assist veterans at the Chelsea Soldiers Home -- the home is a state run facility which provides long term care for 180 veterans as well as servicing 300 retired veterans who live independently. We are seeking donations of personal hygiene items for both men and women. Suggested items are: deodorant, toothpaste, mouthwash, razor blades, combs, brushes, q-tips, cologne, perfume, crossword puzzle books, batteries, light bulbs, socks, and rosary beads.
