Greetings!

Here at Bishop Fenwick, we try to teach the students the values needed to live a good life. They need to have the intellectual skills to succeed. They need to be able to compete in a high-powered, technological world. They need to be able to read, do math, understand science, to know the history behind the events taking place in their world today.

In a Catholic school, we can also teach our students the importance of having respect for themselves and for everyone else. We can teach and expect them to be responsible in their work and especially in their choices. We can teach them the importance of having a place for God in their lives; that it isn’t only the body and the mind that need nourishment, but, also the soul.

We can teach them reverence which goes beyond just respect, but, means treating all of God’s creation as a sacred trust that has been given to us for safe keeping. That is certainly a message about being responsible. We are able and we must, “inspire the minds of our students, but, also touch their hearts and souls.” (Theme of Catholic Schools Week)

Our students have been given great gifts of intellect: tremendous athletic talent: gifts of creating art and music. But, they have taken the important next step of developing these gifts to their full potential. That takes respect and humility; understanding and acknowledging that all that they have been given by God is theirs to develop for good. That is the best expression of faith and character possible.

Bishop Fenwick is definitely a Catholic school you can believe in.

In Christ,
